A voice clone, with clear boundaries.
Digital Zerun is an AI representation, not Zerun speaking live. Voice mode is optional; the rest of this website works without it.
AI identity and cloned voice
The agent introduces itself as “Digital Zerun, an AI representation using Zerun’s authorised cloned voice.” The voice is created only after Zerun completes ElevenLabs voice authorisation. The public repository contains neither the recording nor the private Voice ID.
Microphone access
Microphone permission is requested only after a visitor selects Voice, accepts the on-screen disclosure, and starts a session. Text mode and all research pages work without microphone access.
Zero-retention operating target
The production agent is configured for ElevenLabs Zero Retention Mode, Audio Saving off, and conversation retention of 0 days. This site does not store audio, transcripts, or questions. The visible transcript is held only in page memory and cleared when a session ends or the page closes.
Minimal abuse-prevention data
The Cloudflare Worker checks the page Origin and Turnstile result. For rate limiting, it converts the visitor IP into a short-lived salted hash and stores only counters with a 10-minute TTL. Raw IP addresses are not stored by the application. The limit is three session starts per 10 minutes, a maximum five-minute session, plus a global daily cap.
Knowledge and authority
The agent is restricted to the screened public file at agent-context.md. It does not discuss salary, visa status, private contact information, unpublished reviews, or Author Console content, and cannot promise employment, meetings, collaboration, or other commitments on Zerun’s behalf.
Questions not supported by the public knowledge file receive an explicit “I do not have reliable information” response. For corrections, email zerun.niu@sydney.edu.au.
